Julie & Julia Movie Response

I did not like the movie, Julie & Julia, at all. I found it very boring. I thought the plot wasn't entertaining. Overall, it is my opinion and the movie was not in my taste. I would not recommend this movie to a friend. I mean, if you are running a blog, then maybe you would enjoy the movie. I could not connect to any of the characters so that might be a reason why I did not enjoy it. I believe that they're are so many people in the world trying to get discovered and be successful and now, it is hard to be original. But Julie showed that she didn't give up and that teaches people that if they work hard enough, they will succeed. So, the lesson of the movie isn't that bad.

Julie and Julia

How are the concepts you are currently learning about in class/school reflected in the movie Julie & Julia?

The movie Julie & Julia has to do with not giving up. I think the fact that we are trying to create a blog and have fun with it, has to do with the same concept.

-Accept that doing anything well requires hard work.
Julia wasn’t satisfied to take culinary classes or write recipes off-the-cuff — her kitchen was her laboratory. While in culinary school, she’d come home from class and spend hours working out the hows and whys of what she’d learned that day. When writing recipes, she’d test every ingredient and measurement, experimenting with mayonnaise until she was certain no one could possibly have written more on the subject than she had. “I had never taken anything so seriously in  my life — husband and cat excepted — and I could hardly bear to be away from the kitchen,” she wrote.

I would say this career lesson is very important for two reasons. First, I completely agree with the fact that you have to work hard to achieve great things in life.  Second, I also agree that sometimes you may not succeed but you can't let that get you down.

Life Questions

What are your interest, hobbies, or passions?

I love music. I don't play an instrument or sing. I just love listening to many different kinds of bands. I like to discover new types of music and new kinds of artists. I have a slight obsession with making my music library perfect. A problem that I always come across when downloading new music, is running out of space on my iPod! I mostly have rock/pop songs. I would say that is my favorite genre of music. My favorite bands would be Maroon 5, OneRepublic, Fun, and One Direction. My favorite artists would be Olly Murs, Marina and the Diamonds, and Cher Lloyd. I have a lot more but I would say those come to mind first.

Do you think you have to have your life completely figured out by the age of 30? Why or why not?

Absolutely not. I think you should be able to whatever you want to do with you life at any age. If you 55 years old and you want to run a coffee shop, then run a coffee shop!

My Stop Motion Video

For my photography class, I had to create a stop motion video with my friend Kayla. The video took several days to complete. It was a very tedious task to keep moving the object little by little and have to take a picture each time. We had to be very creative with the storyline. We based our video off of Romeo and Juliet only instead we used a muffin and a cupcake. We adjusted the ending to have the end of the video be happy. It was a lot of work to make but in the end it paid off. I'm very proud of our video and it was also a lot of fun to do. Go to this link here to watch -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNioAXHGYJc
